Skip Gregory holds a Masters Degree in Architecture from Rice University. He is a state and federal Certified Fire Safety Inspector, and is a certified Fire Safety Evaluation Systems (FSES) consultant.

Skip Gregory is a consultant specializing in "Culture Change" within Healthcare Facilities.

He is experienced in the review of the design and construction of hospitals, nursing homes, ambulatory surgical centers, and other similar health care facilities to meet design codes and standards. Serves on many national code writing committees and advocacy groups for the advancement of health care facility design. Outspoken advocate for resident directed care and household designs in nursing homes and patient centered care in hospitals.

Skip provides code and design consulting services for new and existing health care facilities including hospitals, nursing homes, ambulatory surgical centers, and other licensed and certified health care facilities.

He also provides code and design training seminars and presentations for health care professionals and associations, architects, and engineers.

He has been a Florida registered architect since 1986 and is a member of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB). Presently he works as a health care code consultant after serving as a code review architect (1986-1990), then Architect Supervisor (1990-1993) and finally the Bureau Chief (1993-2010) in the Office of Plans and Construction, Agency for Health Care Administration in the state of Florida.

During his tenure as Bureau Chief, he functioned as the final Authority Having Jurisdiction in the Agency for all codes and standards issues related to all licensed health care facilities in Florida, and directed the work of 45 staff members in the review and approval of the design, construction, and fire safety inspections of those facilities.

He continues to serve on many state and national health care code committees including:

• NFPA 110/111 Technical Committee for Emergency and Standby Power Systems
• Revision Committee for the 2014 edition of the Design and Construction of Health Care Facilities
• Florida Building Code Technical Advisory Committee for Special Occupancies
• UL 1069 Nurse Call Systems, Standards Technical Panel
• ASHRAE, SSPC 170, Ventilation of Health Care Facilities
• Member of the American Society of Healthcare Engineering (ASHE)
• Recommended Standards for the Design and Construction of Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU)
